KARACHI: PSX KSE-100 falls 1493 points November 2026 is the headline from the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday, as investors booked profits ahead of the weekend and halted a strong rally. The benchmark KSE-100 Index fell by 1,493.18 points, or 0.85 percent, to close the week lower. The fall came after three days of gains that had pushed the index to new highs, and it shows how fast the mood can turn in a market that has run up hard.

The KSE-100 173886.69 points Friday close came after a fall of 1493.18 points, and the index had closed at 175379.87 points previous session close on Thursday. That means the market gave back a large part of the week gains in a single day, though it still ended the week far above where it started. The index moved in a wide range during the day, touching an intraday high of 174,369.20 points before sliding to its low. A range of 1,559.31 points in one session is a sign of a nervous market.

The index touched 172809.89 points intraday low Friday before closing higher, and that low shows how deep the selling went. At its worst, the market was down more than 2,500 points from the Thursday close, and some investors will have felt the drop sharply. The recovery from the low suggests that buyers stepped in when prices fell, but they did not buy enough to save the day. The close at 173,886.69 was still well below the Thursday level, and that is what traders will remember.

Total volume was 497.756 million shares traded Friday, the exchange data showed, and the BRIndex100 also fell. The BRIndex100 closed at 19,126.67 points, down by 209.73 points, or 1.08 percent. Volume of nearly 500 million shares is a healthy level, and it shows that plenty of investors were active, even on a down day. When volume stays high in a fall, it means sellers are finding buyers, and the market is not freezing up.

Topline Securities profit booking weekend reading said investors booked profits before the long weekend, taking cues from international markets. The firm said market participants preferred to lock in gains rather than carry risk over the weekend, when news from abroad could move prices. That is a common pattern after a sharp rally: traders sell a part of their holdings, take the profit, and wait for a calmer day to buy again. It does not mean they have lost faith in the market.

The fall should be seen against the rally that came before it. On Wednesday the KSE-100 had soared by 3,994.62 points, or 2.38 percent, to close at 172,013.48, crossing the 170,000 level for the first time since late September. The rally was linked by market watchers to easing geopolitical worries and to political change in the United States, which pushed oil prices lower. That link is market commentary, not a confirmed cause, and readers should treat it as the traders view rather than a proven fact.

On Thursday the index had climbed further to 175,379.87, which means the market gained more than 7,000 points in two sessions before Friday fall. A rise that fast almost always brings a pullback, because some investors want to sell while prices are high. The Friday fall of 1,493 points took back about a fifth of the two day gain, which is a normal pause in a strong market. What matters now is whether buyers return on Monday or whether the selling goes on.

Market watchers expect the PSX to keep a cautiously optimistic outlook, with the near term path depending on world commodity prices, global market mood and buying by local institutions after the weekend. If oil stays low and foreign markets stay calm, the index may steady and climb again. If fresh bad news arrives over the weekend, the fall could deepen. No one can say which way it will go, and that is why traders watch the opening on Monday so closely.

For small investors, the lesson of Friday is an old one: a market that rises fast can also fall fast, and a single day does not make a trend. The KSE-100 is still far above its level of a month ago, and the week as a whole was a good one for the market. The profit taking on Friday was a pause, not a crash, and the real test comes next week, when the market shows whether the rally has more life in it or whether the top has been reached for now.
