Udta Teer picked up pace at the box office on its first Sunday, collecting Rs 8.10 crore net in India on day three. The Hindi spy comedy has now earned Rs 19.45 crore net in India in its opening weekend.

The Sunday figure was up 11.7 percent from Saturday’s Rs 7.25 crore, according to the Sacnilk report cited by several outlets. The film had opened with Rs 4.10 crore on Friday, so collections rose on each of its first three days.
The India gross collection has reached Rs 23.08 crore after three days. The worldwide gross stands at Rs 27.58 crore, with overseas markets adding to a strong opening weekend.
Overseas markets contributed Rs 1.75 crore on Sunday, taking the total overseas gross to Rs 4.50 crore. The film sold an estimated 361,245 tickets on Sunday across 6,020 shows in India.
Sunday brings the best day
Sunday was the film’s best single day so far, and the growth came from strong evening shows. The Hindi 2D version recorded overall occupancy of 35.91 percent on Sunday, with evening shows at 47.08 percent.
Morning shows had occupancy of 12.08 percent, while afternoon shows reached 39.54 percent. Night shows recorded 37.46 percent, and overall occupancy across all shows was 25 percent.
That is a clear step up from the first two days. Occupancy was 13 percent on Friday and 21 percent on Saturday, before reaching 25 percent on Sunday.
Total ticket sales across the opening weekend reached an estimated 866,929. The steady rise from Friday to Sunday points to positive word of mouth rather than a front-loaded opening.
A steady climb, not a big opening
The film opened quietly on Friday with Rs 4.10 crore net, then nearly doubled on Saturday. Sunday’s further rise completed a weekend in which each day beat the one before it.
That pattern is unusual for a film that started slowly. It suggests audiences came in larger numbers after early viewers talked about the film, instead of the usual drop after the opening day.
Udta Teer stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, and is directed by Akash A Kaushik. It is the fourth collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, after The Lunchbox, Kill and Gyaarah Gyaarah.
The film follows Khurrana’s Bilal, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and joins the Indian side, in a cross-country chase. Sara Ali Khan plays the female lead in the spy comedy.
The film opened on 23 October alongside six other Hindi releases, and it has led that group through the weekend. Its opening weekend net of Rs 19.45 crore puts it ahead of the other new releases by a clear margin.
Khurrana’s last theatrical outing was Pati Patni Aur Woh Do in 2025. Udta Teer is his first release since then, and its weekend growth gives it a better start than its quiet opening day suggested.
What comes next
Advance bookings for Monday stood at Rs 2.10 crore from 92,147 tickets across 6,170 shows. The final Monday figure will depend on walk-in audiences through the day.
Delhi NCR remained the top city for advance bookings, at Rs 53.47 lakh. Mumbai has been the strongest city overall, with Rs 3.15 crore gross so far.
A strong Monday would confirm that the weekend growth was built on audience response rather than opening-day curiosity. A sharp drop, on the other hand, would show that the film’s appeal was limited to the weekend.
For now, the film has turned a slow start into the best opening weekend among this week’s Hindi releases. The weekday numbers will show whether that momentum can carry it past the Rs 20 crore net mark in India.
