A record response

The Jio Platforms IPO drew a huge response from investors across India. The total issue was Rs 30,213 crore, and it was an all fresh issue of shares. The price band was Rs 1,065 to Rs 1,119 per share.

Overall, the issue was subscribed 22.19 times. Nearly 1.39 crore applications came in, which shows how wide the interest was. Big institutions led the demand. The qualified institutional buyers portion was subscribed 70.55 times.

Non-institutional investors subscribed their portion 14 times. Retail investors, the small individual applicants, subscribed 2.72 times. With demand far above the shares on offer, many applicants will get fewer shares than they asked for, and many will get none at all. That is normal in a heavily subscribed IPO, and it is why the allotment check matters so much today.

How to check on BSE

The BSE website is one of the simplest places to check the bse ipo allotment status. The process takes only a few minutes, and you need either your application number or your PAN card details.

First, go to the BSE IPO allotment page. Select Equity as the issue type. Then choose Jio Platforms Ltd from the list of companies. After that, enter your application number or your PAN. Complete the captcha check on the screen and click on search.

Your result will show whether shares have been allotted to you and how many. If you applied through more than one application, check each one separately. Keep your application number ready before you start, as it saves time and avoids typing errors. If the page is slow, wait a short while and try again, as many people are checking at the same time.

Check on NSE and KFin

You can also check your status on the NSE website or on the registrar’s website. KFin Technologies is the registrar for the Jio Platforms IPO, and it runs its own allotment status page at ipostatus.

On the KFin Technologies site, select Jio Platforms Ltd from the dropdown menu. Then choose how you want to search, using your PAN, your application number, or your demat account details. Enter the details and submit the form to see your allotment result.

The NSE website offers a similar check. Go to the IPO allotment section, select the equity IPO bid details, choose Jio Platforms, and enter your PAN and application number. All three routes, BSE, NSE, and KFin, show the same allotment result. So you only need to use the one you find easiest.

What happens today

Tuesday 27 October is the day the allotted shares are credited to investors’ demat accounts. If you received shares, check your demat account during the day to confirm that they have arrived. The number of shares should match the allotment result you saw online.

Refunds are also processed on the same day. If you did not get any shares, the full amount you blocked for the application will be released. If you got only some of the shares you applied for, the balance amount will be refunded. Most IPO payments are made through ASBA or UPI, which block the money in the bank account rather than taking it out. After allotment, only the amount for the shares allotted is taken, and the rest is unblocked.

If your refund does not show up by the end of the day, check your bank account first and then contact your bank or your broker. Keep a screenshot of your allotment result, as it can help if you need to raise a query later.

Grey market premium

The grey market premium, often called the GMP, was reported at around Rs 245 to Rs 250. The grey market is an unofficial market where IPO shares are traded before listing. The premium gives a rough idea of the mood around the stock, but it is not an official price and it can change quickly.

A high premium does not guarantee a strong listing, and a low premium does not mean the stock will fall. Investors should treat the GMP as one small signal among many, not as a promise of listing gains. The real test comes on listing day, when the shares start trading on the BSE and the NSE.

Listing tomorrow

The Jio Platforms shares are set to list on the BSE and the NSE on Wednesday 28 October. That is the first day investors can buy or sell the shares on the stock market. Allotted investors will see the shares in their demat accounts before the listing, so they can decide what to do once trading opens.

New listings can be volatile in the first hours of trading. Prices can move up or down quickly as buyers and sellers find a level. Investors who plan to sell on listing day should watch the opening trade carefully. Those who plan to hold for the long term may want to look past the first day’s moves.

Paras Healthcare allotment

Jio Platforms was not the only IPO with allotment news this week. The Paras Healthcare IPO allotment was also finalised on 26 October. That issue was worth Rs 1,450 crore, and it was subscribed 1.92 times overall.

Investors in the Paras Healthcare IPO can check their allotment status in the same way, through the BSE, the NSE, or the registrar’s website. The process is the same for most mainboard IPOs in India. You pick the company name, enter your PAN or application number, and the result appears on the screen.

Why this IPO drew attention

The Jio Platforms IPO was one of the largest public issues in India, and the size of the response showed the depth of investor interest. A fresh issue of Rs 30,213 crore means the company raised new money through the sale of new shares. The strong demand from institutions, rich individuals, and retail investors alike made it one of the most talked about IPOs of the year.

For applicants, the wait is now nearly over. The allotment is done, the shares and refunds move today, and the listing follows tomorrow. The next step is simple. Check your status, confirm your demat account or your refund, and then decide what you want to do when trading begins on Wednesday.
